The 2017 Vans Warped Tour returns to  Virginia Beach on Tuesday July 11.  The traveling music festival, founded by Kevin Lyman in 1995,  is bringing back a more metal and punk rock lineup this year.  There will be 90 artists performing on seven stages.   There are several Richmond, Virginia metal bands on this tour, GWAR,  Municipal Waste, and former Richmond artists in the band  Bad Omens.  These band are a must see.  A few other favorite bands you should not miss are Anti-Flag,
 The Ataris, American Authors, Beartooth and Dance Gavin Dance.

Doors open at 11:00 AM and the show usually ends at 10:00 PM.  If you bring three cans of food, old cell phone to donate or pay $5, you can get early entry.  Bring your donation to the Feed Our Children NOW! tent, located by the main entrance gates near the Express Entry flag, to receive your Express Entry wristband. All donations go to feed hungry children in each city and fund their youth empowerment programs!

Parents get in free with a child under age 16.  There is a special area for parents to rest, cool off and purchase food and beverages.

The Warped Tour daily schedule can be found on the official Warped iPhone app and Android app.  It will also be posted on a large board in the middle of the festival, and you can also purchase a pocket size schedule when entering the venue. 

Remember to bring a large unopened water bottle.  You can refill it once in the venue, but it must be unopened when you enter.  You can also bring your own sandwich and snack.  Last but not least bring a rain poncho.
